From the English translation of the book - Selected Sires Of Germany:
Corrado I (Holsteiner) was a shooting star as a showjumper and as a sire as well. Referred to as an "Idol In Holstein", Corrado I achieved the best jumping index of his test lot (more than 137 points) at his stallion performance test. He achieved 10 points twice (loose jumping and aptitude for jumping in training). But he also achieved outstanding results for canter and rideability (rideability 8.0 twice). In showjumper classes Corrado progeny are almost unbeatable. Already in his first crops, he (Corrado I ) has 14 approved stallions. As a competition horse, Corrado I is always in the ribbons. In 1991, (as a 6 year old, Corrado I competed in the Federal Championship for Showjumpers in Germany. Corrado has won many Grand Prix and Nations Cup and World Cup competitions, e.g.; Aachen and Frankfurt, as well as being the German Champion in 1994. Corrado I has won over 500,000 DM in his career and is consistently mentioned as one of Cor de la Bryere's most important sons in addition to having the highest competition earnings of any Cor de la Bryere offspring. At the 1993 Elite Holsteiner sale at Neumunster, three 3 year olds by Corrado I sold for an average of $60,000 each. In Germany in 1997, Corrado I progeny at 2-4 years of age were selling for over 100,000 each. In August of 2001, German trainers express difficulty in obtaining these sought after bloodlines and spoke of talk that the breeding fees for Corrado I may be raised to 10,000 DM - approximately $5,000 U.S. dollars.
Corrado I 's sire is Cor de la Bryere (Selle Francais) imported to Holstein - a true living legend in Europe.
